Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS Lens

0 ReviewsAs part of Sony's flagship G Master series, this lens is designed to achieve notably high resolution and sharpness through the correction of a wide variety of spherical and chromatic aberrations. G Master lenses feature robust and intuitive-to-handle physical designs to optimize both still photography and cine applications.
A popular 70-200mm telephoto zoom range designed for full-frame E-mount mirrorless cameras, this lens is also compatible with APS-C-format cameras where it renders a 105-300mm equivalent focal length range.
The constant f/2.8 maximum aperture offers consistent performance throughout the zoom range and lends greater control over focus position for shallow depth of field techniques. The new 11-blade aperture design operates silently and works together with the extreme XA aspherical element to suppresses onion ring bokeh, delivering a natural looking circular bokeh.
Two extra-low dispersion elements and two Super ED elements reduce chromatic aberrations and color fringing for increased clarity and color fidelity. Each optical surface has a Nano AR Coating II applied to reduce surface reflections, flare, and ghosting for increased contrast and color rendering in strong lighting conditions.
Four XD (Extreme Dynamic) Linear Motors ensure fast, precise, and accurate autofocus in both stills and video, with increased speed and improved tracking over the previous model, and reduced focus breathing, zoom shifting, and axis shifting for refined cine shooting.
Optical Steady Shot image stabilization helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake for sharper imagery when shooting handheld with slower shutter speeds. This stabilization system can also be combined with select camera's sensor-shift type image stabilization for more effective control of camera blur. An OSS mode switch offers selection between Mode 1 for general image stabilization suited to general shooting, a Mode 2 setting designed for panning movements, and Mode 3 for emphasizing framing stability when shooting moving subjects.
Designed with video applications in mind, flexible focus control is provided by features such as full-time DMF (Direct Manual Focus), Linear Response MF, and a focus-range limiter. An aperture ring with switchable clicks and an iris lock provides refined exposure control in different shooting conditions.
The lens barrel is equipped with three programmable focus control buttons, a focus mode switch, range limiter, iris lock, and aperture ring click selector to permit fast, intuitive operation of the lens while shooting.
The front lens element features a fluorine coating to protect against smudges and dust from adhering to the glass surface. Dust- and moisture-sealed design better permits working in harsh environments.
A removable, rotating tripod mount permits quick switching from horizontal to vertical shooting orientations.
The included lens hood features a flocked interior for reduce glare and an opening that allows convenient operation of separately purchased circular polarizing or other rotating filters.
Compatible with Sony's optional 1.4x and 2x teleconverters, this lens can be easily transformed into a 98-280mm or 140-400mm optic, respectively.

0 ReviewsVibration Reduction image stabilization helps to reduce the appearance of camera shake to better enable handheld shooting in low-light situations.
Multi-focus system incorporates two separate AF drive units, which are synchronized, to deliver especially fast and accurate focusing throughout the zoom range. This system uses stepping motors, which offer impressively smooth and quiet autofocus performance that is well-suited to both stills and video applications. Full-time manual focus override is also possible and an internal focusing design is used, where only the internal lens groups are moved during focusing, to maintain the overall length of the lens during use and to promote faster focusing speeds.
Programmable Control Ring is, by default, set to adjust manual focus, but can also be used to control aperture or exposure compensation.
Integrated OLED lens information panel allows you to quickly confirm aperture setting, focus distance, and depth of field figures right on the lens in both bright and dark situations.
Two assignable L.Fn buttons work in conjunction with camera-based Fn buttons to provide seamless points for quickly changing exposure settings and other functions.
Specialized electromagnetic aperture mechanism provides greater exposure control stability that is especially beneficial when working with fast continuous shooting rates.
Dust- and moisture-resistant lens barrel, along with a front fluorine coating, benefits the lens' use in inclement conditions.
Removable, rotating tripod collar spins on ball bearings to permit quick and smooth switching from vertical to horizontal shooting orientations.

0 ReviewsAn Optical Image Stabilizer helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake by up to four shutter speed stops to better enable working in low-light conditions and with slower shutter speeds. Three distinct IS modes are available: standard single-shot mode, a panning-optimized mode, and a mode that only activates the Image Stabilizer during the exposure.
A ring-type Ultrasonic Motor (USM), along with optimized focusing algorithms and a high-speed CPU, is employed to deliver fast, precise, and quiet autofocus performance as well as full-time manual focus override.
Focus Preset function is available to quickly recall a programmed focusing position.
Focus Limiter switch lets you constrain the focusing to three different ranges to suit different applications.
A Power Focus setting is available, and allows you to electronically and smoothly adjust your focus position to suit video recording. This setting utilizes a dedicated ring in front of the main focusing ring and allows you to use one of two different focusing speeds.
Rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing out of focus quality that benefits the use of shallow depth of field and selective focus techniques.
As a member of the esteemed L-series, this lens is sealed against dust and moisture for working in inclement environmental conditions.
Removable rotating tripod collar is included and benefits working with the lens atop a tripod or monopod.
Compatible with optional EF 1.4X and EF 2X teleconverters.
